Many environmental factors can effect the herbal environment in which the product is grown.  Weather, for example, plays a crucial role in the outcome of the product.  If the product was grown under extremely dry or wet conditions, the herb may be lacking essential nutrients needed from the soil.  Likewise, if the product is manufactured with chemical pestides and preservatives, they may then be passed on to the herb.
